Explain the possible impact of the Kyoto Protocol on the environment and on economic growth in Australia?

I can't find anything on the Kyoto Protocol in my textbook!!

i think the koyoto proticol is to stop and/or reduce the emmision of pollution into the atmosphere. australia refused to sign the agreement aswell as the united states because both countries rely on producing steal which is a hige emitter of pollution

in your essay you could talk about how if australia signed the agreement there would be a loss of jobs in tha sector..... which leads to a decrease in spending......... which leads to lower economis growth. this would lead to a increase in welfare payments ... and put strain on the budget. so u could do something liek that and just expand.

as for the enviromental benifits they would get better beacuse there is less pollution being emitted and therefore the atmosphere quality will imprve

You should be able to do a google search.

It aimed to cut emissions by approximately 4%. It had a tiny impact and for the cost, so Australia decided the opportunity costs were too high. If adopted it would force heavy industry to innovate and spend money that was essentially unproductive. The reality is growth in real GDP would be negatively affected since money was being spent and there was no increase in productivity.

not exactly coherent, but you get the idea.
