hey everyone.. i know i should be been much much MUCH more further along in my ip... but well.. im posting this msg to ask for any suggestions...
you see, i keep circling.. and circling,,and.. i think you get the idea. i know im doing an absurdist style performance.. or at least inspiration from them... and what really got me interested was a play by david campton called "then.."... also. beckett's "waiting for godot" did it too...
would you happen to know any other good plays taht are similar?

Oh well stop talking about should have "started" and actually start and you will feel better.
ALL of BECKETT'S WORK is really good (sorry about caps) and absurd!! Why don't you try and rent some but im not actually sure if there are any on film. There was a series on sbs a year ago which was great it might be on vid now.

Look at the texts mentioned in the syllabus for the elective of Absurd Theatre.

Um...yes, Beckett's work is really good. Plus you have Pinter's Dumb Waiter, and Zoo Story (and other plays) by Albee I think.

........ hmm./ zoo story.. i think i remember reading that play... but i cant remember what it was about. and i was about to read the dumb waiter.... i heard from a friend taht it was quite.... err... well... not that good.she saw a performance of it.. but then again it could have just been the actual performance rather than the text itself...

Did you see it at Company B Belvior?? lol Coz I saw it there and hated it. The actors were good and all that, but I had no idea what was going on. I went with my mum, and she (who has no idea about drama) had to explain it to me.

Absurd theatre? Yes...quite absurd indeed. Quite idiotic as well. :p

Ug. In my honest opinion, I did not understand Dumb Waiter and thought I just wasted a whole 55 minutes of my life. I'm devastated that I can't get those 55 minutes back, but I guess I'm going to know the story to it, before we do it in class. It's a bit of an advantage.
