I note that people try really hard one way or another. such as 2/3/4 unit maths learning crazy things that u prop wont use if u were gonna do business studies / archeology for example. Or u study extensive literature in 4u english, but u chose to do science at uni. Thus, i have thought that ppl work really really damn HARD to get a hi UAI. Thereafter, if what they studied isn't really enjoyed or relevant to their future studies...what a WASTE

Well I guess it's a good indicator of whether you are capable of learning things well and applying it to your uni subjects.

Though most of the stuff you learn at school you'd probably never use again :p

Yeah i totally agree with you. I do no extension units like extension 2 maths or extension english, rather, I do Design and Technology, and Engineering.
Im glad that I do Design and Technology, because it has fairly low scaling, it has the base of what people need to learn for such courses such as architecture and industrial design, and also what I want to delve into when continuing into University.
I dont think that I would ever use the knowledge in entension englishes or maths....but thats only me.

so true! i did all the sciency subjects but what i am planning to do in uni has nothing got to do with science (at least at this stage, i don't think so)

However by studying those subjects, it gave me a chance to study things that I probably would never gonna study again. which I think is great because i get to learn those things

i studied ext units - eng + his not because i wanted a high UAI but because i liked those subjects and wanted to develop skills and knowledge in those areas
i dont reckon its a waste i enjoyed them - believe me i found my ext classes a lot betta than doing science or maths courses
i dont think its been a waste of time at all and i will probably use some of that stuff in uni (hopefully)

i guess its up to the individual and what they like - but yeah i do agree its prob not a good idea just to do ext to get a high UAI if you dont even like the subject
