Abbott playing the Gender card? (1 Viewer)

I was watching Qanda on Monday night - you can watch replay on abc iview. Then a Liberal MP said that Abbott never played the gender card and it was the prime minister doing it. Then the whole crowd started to laugh. Bear in mind that this qanda was held in Gillard's electorate. Did I miss something? I never recalled Abbott playing the gender card... Can someone give me some guidance?
