Advantage of AC, can be transformed, this is good for use in power line transmission, because of less heat loss to surroundings etc.

Batteries. Feeding power back into the power grid. I.e The train network, power is used to get the trains moving and then put back into the grid when slowing down.

since you need to relate disadvantages aswell,
I guess you could say because DC has high power losses
DC's NOT used in power transmission
