Hi,

I was wondering how bad is it to accept an offer for a summer vacation position and later reject it if you get something better? What happens if you sign the contract and reject at a later day? Any insight would be verrry helpful!

Good advice.

Just don't let them know by email, do it over the phone or in person if you're comfortable.

Just be polite - usually they'll ask for a reason why you reneged the offer. Give one if you're comfortable with it, otherwise just say its a personal choice or you'd rather not say. Try not to lie - the business world is often smaller than you think.

At the end of the day its only a summer internship and they'll be able to fill the position you leave open quickly with another student (no offence). HR are used to this, so its nothing new to them.

Just don't burn any bridges you don't have to.
