Have just purchased my Access card

I just have one question, I have seen for a few events the access discount, am I able to get such discounted tickets for friends not at UYSD using my card or would they have to present an access card at the event?
Thanks in advance

No, the discount is only for the access holder.

Oh okay thanks, but if it was just for myself and a friend I should be okay?

You can both get discounts only if both of you have ACCESS cards.

im sure the food/ticket vendors are still making profits
If you're going to justify it, c'est la vie c'est la vie.

I have seen them check it at the door of uni events sometimes though. Or ask for access numbers when buying tickets for things and needing an Access number for each person. I mean you can skirt it, but there's always the possibility you'll be caught out on such an occasion for gig. I mean for buying food and drink not cause you could be buying it for yourself, but the gigs/events yes.

The union is a not for profit organisation. So any profit they do make goes straight back into running events, providing services, and supporting the clubs and societies that put on a heap of free events.
i guess, but i doubt they are losing many members because of people using other's cards

Having an extra 100 members could mean they would have so much capacity to help the C&S program though :) I mean even an extra 10 members could help subsidise something that couldn't normally be done.
