Mainly coz if you want some experience in an accounting firm, they would like to know if you are familar with MYOB etc. If not, what extra reason do you give them?t-i-m-m-y said:besides why would u spend 600 bucks to learn MYOB?? bit expensive way if u ask me

Why is that ?
Thats my point of view. Hence, why wouldnt they teach you it.§eraphim said:i think its good to have more skills under your belt. demonstrating that you have applied those skills in the workplace is an asset. having a wide breadth of experiences, for eg in a small business, can enhance your employability prospects in the long-term when you graduate, and sometimes in the short-to-medium term as you can apply for part-time book-keeping/data entry positions.
yeah same for me, my accting subj require you to do excel and MYOB assessments, i thinkn it applys to UTS and mac aswellGrizzly said:Hmmm, so you could be an accountant with no knowledge of MYOB etc....
I dont think MYOB is just for bookeepers.....mind you...bookeepers get it wrong all the time.
Not to mention the number of taxation accountants that would need to use it , along side large corporations that use SAP.
at macq, MYOB is core, and wondered why not include it in an accounting major at unsw.
(Im not complaining at all, just curious )
