Adding software/applications onto a blank CD? (1 Viewer)

ok i want to reformat my computer, im lazy to buy a hardrive to add all my programs i have in my comp onto the back up hard drive and im scared to make a bad error, anyways i have decided to transfer it onto blank cd's thats 800mb each and i wanted to know how i transfer my folders that contained 1000 of pics rather than do pic by pic, also my programs.

i have in my comp

- adobe photoshop 9.0
- adobe image ready
- limewire
- hide ip premium
- messenger 7.0
- mcafee security centre
- mcafee scan
- mcafee anti virus and firewall
- winzar
- kodak easy share
- real player premium
- messenger plus
- paint. net
- my documents
- my saved word pad documents


so anyone can tell me how to put these onto discs and step by step, i tried it already and its been getting stupid failed errors...

Zip/archive them into one file before you burn them.

You can't really just copy a program onto a CD, then copy it back out later and expect it to work. Sometimes it might, but most of the time the program has other dependencies elsewhere in the computer, or it has some entries in the registry that it needs. The only way to recover these is to reinstall the program using the installer.

Consider making a 2nd partition when you reformat, It'll make things alot easier if you ever need to do this again.

If you make a image of the drive, then the programs will work fine when you load that image back onto the HDD.

Wouldn't that recreate the errors/problems that made the person wanted to reformat the comp initially. (Ie. the problem wont go away if there was any.)
