I was looking at unsw adv sci and saw that you have to choose a program that you have to stick to througout your degree. Is usyd adv sci more flexible than this?

Like as if im going to know what i want to do straightaway.....

Usually first year science courses are the same for most degrees and Universities.

I read that in the unsw students guide, that you have to choose a plan in first year.

You don't have to. A lot of Adv science students at UNSW don't know what they want to major in until their second year. In the first year, you bascially do all the same subjects regardless of your what your major is. Then you can decide in your second year what you want to major in.

The UNSW adv science "plan" is just a guide saying which subjects they prefer you to do.
