Should you give the stores a call and find out what's the progress of your application? How soon after should you?

I've dropped it off at numerous places. They were not looking for people at that time. Maybe 2 weeks back. I saw a sign that says they are hiring. Should I enquire again?

inquire at the place where they had the sign, but I wouldn't bother at the other places. They probably trashed your resume after you left.
