If you need to do maths this year there is no point doing the bridging course next year. It's like getting HSC tutoring when you're already at uni.

You should be fine doing the life science level maths subjects (MATH1011/1015 in semester 1 and MATH1013/1014 in semester 2, I believe) because those have no assumed knowledge requirements. But if your degree requires you to do maths at the normal level, which requires maths ext-1as assumed knowledge, then you should definitely consider catch up by either doing a bridging course (although that may no longer seem like an option) or alternatively find a tutor who knows which bits of the HSC 2U/ext-1 maths courses are useful. I think you may find the normal level maths subjects challenging, having done very little algebra or calculus in general maths, but as long as you prepare yourself in advance and put a bit of extra effort into your study then you'll be fine. :)
