Did I read the title of this thread correctly? What's with the title? How random.

I realise I wasn't helpful. Sorry 'bout that.

Keep the original hem?!?!

Provided it's a lightweight fabric this is possible but highly fiddly. If we're talking standard heavy denim, then the answer is no.

Why on earth do you want to keep the original hem?

Anyway - you should be able to find some tailors in the local paper. If you can't, get in contact with me... I do pant hems for $8. Probably easier to find someone local, though.

ok
i have an alterations dilemma
see
i bought these jeans. and they were expensive but i was like 'hey they'll last me forever right"
turns out i decided to drop a few sizes and now theyre way too big around the waistband and bum (main problem) as well as the legs (they WERE meant to be skinny jeans :()
so
does anyone think there's still hope?

you've got to change the waistband, bum and legs. they look more like bagging leg jeans. you might as well just buy a new pair of jeans that fit well. :)

Length is changeable, bum girth of jeans... you're pretty much stuck there.

:bomb:

Ahahahah, sorry, random smilie, just wanted to use it once in a post. I think that one's new, I haven't seen it before.

Just Jeans still do alterations. But I don't know if they do it to jeans they don't sell, if that makes sense.

Try yellow pages for alterations shops near you.
I take it to a little chinese alterations shop down the road from me and it cost around $12, so don't go paying more than $15. it's not worth it...

if your mum/grandmother can do it, then bingo!
