Hi,

I have question I am stuck on.

The question is; The sides of a triangle are formed by the lines with equations 2x-y-7=0, 3x+5y-4=0 and x+3y-4=0. (a) Find the vertices of the triangle. (b) Find the exact length of all the altitudes of the triangle.

I have worked out (a) the answers being (3,-1), (25/7,1/7) and (-2,2). How do I work out the altitude? I have never come across a question asking it before or if I have then it hasn't been worded as this one is.

Thanks for any help,

DJel.

imagine a perpendicular line from each vertex to the opposite side?
