Am I able to achieve an ATAR of 92+ even if I failed my internals? (1 Viewer)

I've already posted a similar questions before but some people haven't seemed to answer my other questions...so I'll just repeat.

Recently my marks for all my subjects are either a fail or just passed the average mark. At the start of Year 12 I was doing pretty well before I started failing during the second half of my exams.
I'm ranked 2nd last in 3U Mathematics, 10th last in English Advanced and 8th last in Chemistry. I've constantly been regretting leaving my study to the last few days and now I want to push my ranks up to at least top 10.
My only exams left are the trials and the HSC.
I really want to get an ATAR of 92+ but I'm not sure whether achieving that goal is possible. :/

Hence I ask these questions:

Will the trials help me push up my ranks if I do well or only by a little?

Do I really need to come first in my trials in order to push my ranks up to top 10?

I've heard that if you do really well in the HSC but do really bad in your externals, then your HSC or ATAR mark will be pulled down. I don't know if this is true.

I need advice.

You Trials are worth 30-50% of your final internal mark. That means that if you do very well in your Trials, your internal marks will be pushed up significantly. This happened to many people I knew who didn't do too spectacularly during the entire year but studied hard for the Trials and pushed up their rank a lot. In your situation, I hate to say this but it might seem that you will indeed have to rank into at least the top 5 for those subjects in order to majorly push up your rank. However, the most important exam is your HSC exam, because (correct me if I'm wrong, it's been a while) the mark that you get in your HSC exam is your mark - it isn't affected by moderation or whatever like your internal mark is. Since this mark is 50% of your total mark, it means that doing well enough in the HSC exams should put you into 92+ atar range, and of course, doing poorly will negatively affect your final result even if you did quite well internally. However, it really depends on your school rank.

So study up for these Trials and especially the HSC exams because if you play your cards right, these two exams should put you into the 92+ range.

Haha, I guess you could call it an Asian fail (in the case of my parents, a fail is <90) but it's more likely a fail less than 50%
