in my intro can i state that i will be refering to Wordsworths poems in abbreviations?
e.g. I shall be refering to Tintern Abbey and The Solitary Reaper as TA and SR respectively. Also when quoting do we need line references?

They prefer Tintern Abbey as 'Tintern...' instead of 'TA'. I remember someone showing me last year's BOS marking notes, which said the abbreviations were jarring in an essay.

preferably don't abbreviate at all - neither 'Tintern Abbey' nor 'The Solitary Reaper' are long titles. If you feel you must, however, do not use them in the introduction to your essay. The first time you use either title in the body write it out in full (yes, again) and then use brackets straight after to note that hereafter the poem will be referred to as---.
