SO CONFUSED!
Hey im currently in year 11 and just wondering if i picked the right subjects, im so confused and w ehave a wekk left to change so i gotta get myself sorted FAST

I picked

ENG advanced
extension eng
maths 2u
extension maths
ecos.
biz studies
and CHemsitry

i am wondering whether i should change from chemistry to ancienty history
why coz well i dont like my chem teacher at all, i dont like the chem pracs, or the theory, the only thing i prob. like is balancing equations. i dont have any subjects at all with a good teacher and none that i look foward to going to thats why im thinking doing ancient history coz i wouldhave a mad teacher and im interested in history ( got a band 6 in SC for his.) and only a band 5 for science. study heaps for scienecs and none for his.

The only thing is of i swap from chem, to his is i have to swap ecos classes. The economics class i would be swapping into has a better teacher than i currently have. in fact the teacher is mad BUT i would have no frienz there, like no one to sit next too, no ones notez 2 boring when im sick no frienz ( i think not completely completely sure) and i wanna be happy in class that why the whole swap from chem to AH so i can actually be happy, but then i prob. wont be happy in ECOS coz no one i know and also the teachers asks lotsz ppl 4 examples n stuff and group work and id be on my own ( ther is actually a group work speech n stuff, but maybe they will assign a partner who knows)

alos if i do the switch i will have my free periods completely alone, altthough i think i can manage that one@ but i wont have a double free and therefore no skipping off to go shopping over the doubkle free and lunch n stuff

alos if i swap my frienz in ecos,. will prob bget cut but im tyring to think more about me than them but im so confusedz! i would probably, probably being the word, make the swap if i knew ppl in the other ecos class that i could sit with.

ALSO CHEM SCALES MORE THAN AH AND EVEN IF I GOT LIKE A 90 IN AH IT WOULD BE THE SAME AS A 70 IN CHEM ( I PUT MARKS INTO SAM)

true i think im more concerned with it as well coz the teachers style is like a group thing woth lots of questions, like in a normally calss i wouldnt give to much but since ecos is fair small ( ie.e 15) ppl and the teacher doesnt just write notes 4 us to copy i might seem lonely n stuff then not have fun

Your subject choice should reflect what you want to do in universtiy too. I think Ancient history is definitely a better choice than chemistry because the latter is so distorted that it lost it's essence.

90 is ancient history is definitely much better than 70 in chem, you can check the table of scaled marks and HSC marks from UAC. It's not that clear cut when they say one subject scales better, it also depends on the actual marks that are being compared.

do what you enjoy, it would provide more motivation than doing something you hate.... unless you can pretend that you dont hate it. Also getting a band 6 in Ancient should be equivalent to quite a high scaling by the UAC... whereas 70 in chem wont get you much

also, choose subjects depending on what you want to do in uni. i dropped eco after yr 11 to maximise my uai( i didnt want 13 units) but have regretted it since as im now studying commerce and learning/cramming stuff that was covered in the HSC... (and the UAI really didnt matter... what an overrated piece of crap -_-)

but if i did chem i would probably get higher than 70 id say in chem i might get 85 and in ancient around 88
