hey i'm supposed to write reasons for dragging such an old script out of the cupboard, any ideas? how is the story of oedipus relevant to today?

Like any literature, the text of Oedipus can be used even now, 2500 years later as it has timeless themes explored within it. it is these themes which are vital for us to learn and explore about ourselves and come to a conclusion or new understanding.

some themes include: fate or free will, guilt and expiation, a tradgedy of pride (and i feel of ignorance and arrogance, the quest for truth, and taboos and natural order.
