Any suggestions for laptops to suit me? (1 Viewer)

I'm not very techy so I'm having trouble finding a good laptop amongst the millions of them out there.

A few things I need are:
-4-8 GB of RAM
-wi-fi
-good battery life
-500 GB hard-drive
-light weight- i.e. less than 1.5kg
-price under 1000

Any suggestions are appreciated

What will this laptop be used for? It is difficult for us to recommend one w/o knowing whether you intend to play games or do work or watch movies etc.

But this is my laptop, which I bring to Uni everyday, and I love it. It cost me around $650 brand new.

Not too powerful, but more than enough for University or School work + HD movies and browsing etc.

macbooks are the best laptops u just have to pay more thats why people dont like them.

i like my macbook air. great for uni. and i have the previous gen 11" with 2gb of ram (but 128gb ssd). perfect for portability and uni needs.
