Outline an experimental method for determing the acid content in aspirin ( acetylsalicylic acid) given that it is a monoprotic acid

anyone can do this Q ??

Titrate it with a strong base, like NaOH, using phenolphthalein as indicator. Note that this must be done rapidly, as otherwise NaOH will also cause base hydrolysis of the ester. Also, this is not a good analysis technique for an aspirin tablet, as most comtain other acids, notably citric acid, as well.
