im not doing a vet course but i think u could study for vet IT by just re-doing the practical exercises so that you know that you fully understand them. Thats what i did last year in IST and it worked for my exams 
and even in IPT i find that it helps me to remember all the stuff. Something else i do is to try apply the stuff i learn in other subjects so if i learn how to make a template in IPT i might use that in my biology report assignment. Hope this helps
