I've read a few of his books. Jack Ryan and John Clark are two characters I rather like. I haven't read his frist novel, but I have read some of his earlier ones. His mature style and deep knowledge and research do him credit.
However, I gave up on him after his books became too long and in depth with description that really wasn't relevant.
My favourite book of his would have to be Without Remorse, the story of John Clark, and how he came to be.

yeah i've read quite a few of his books, i have to say that he's kind of sold out to just selling books eg. the power play series. he's just selling his books under his name even though he doesnt write them. executive orders was pretty good, it was a good idea and rainbow six is good for an action book

It is a bit annoying how he does that whole selling out. Some of the authors who write under the series are kind of shit (not all of them).
They are pretty good ideas I agree, and one of his novels is kind of creepy in it's prediction. At the end of a novel a japanese pilot flies a passenger plane into the pentagon.....
