In the introduction, when I'm identifying my texts, is it enough to just go "Peter Skrzynecki's poems, "The Immigrant Chronicles", the website screenshot "Journeys over land and sea", the novel "On the Road" by Jack Keroac and "Michael Palin's Great Railway Journey", a documentary by Ken Stephinson all discuss how the physical journey can lead to greater understanding.

Or do I need include a little detail on each text. My teacher says that I should, but it seems like such a waste of time and my introduction always ends up being about 180 words long.

Thanks to anyone who replies

An introduction to an english essay, aside from stating which texts you'll be covering, is also supposed to give an outline of how you're going to answer the question/your take on it.

Aim of the game is to answer the essay question. Remember that! If you feel more comfortable re-couching the essay question into your intro, do that - but make sure you answer it!

You don't need detail on the texts. Always assume your marker has already read the texts.
