This seems a little too good to be true. Shopping for a laptop and ipod nano (not for me.. i already have both), i can get the education discount (10%) but then it says if you buy BOTH at the same time, you can get a cashback of $200, which basically means i get the iPod for about $100

I'm after a iBook g4 12 inch...

when i read the mail in coupon, it says not available for 12 inch iBook with cd rom drive.. but i'm after the combo drive.. does this rule me out? Tried ringing them, but its a pub holiday and they arent open till monday

Haha the catch is the first word of this topic. Jkjk.

Although I personally can't stand the Apple OS, I do admire some of the features and if you are an Apple fan then maybe you'll appreciate it. I can't quite see what the exact specs of the system you're looking at are but I wouldn't be surprised if the price drop is due to the impending release of the new Intel-based Macs. May I ask what the total price will be because I'd imagine that despite the $200 cash off and 10% discount, a 12" Apple notebook + iPod Nano still won't be "that cheap" compared to PC counterparts, but then I could be wrong!

Thanks for the info Skeeta, this sounds pretty good. Does anyone know if it is available through department stores, and whether the student discount is also given at Myer or DJ's? Thanks in advance.
I think you can get the student discount at other stores.. but i'm not sure about this particular deal. I've always bought off the website (with my parents credit card, and then paid them back), which has been really good and i've always gotten things the next day or the day after

They've been doing this for a VERY LONG time, so there's no catch. Just Apple being nice to people doing tertiary study/teaching.
Student discounts only apply for people doing tertiary study or teaching, not high school students, so keep that in mind.
