hi guys

do any of you know a couple of texts that have been appropriated into a more contemporary version? apart from pride and prejudice and bridget jones?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The two paintings you see at Cronulla, I think the appropriated text is entitled "Beach Party".

my friend used the 'beach party' paintings and got 18/20....

and hamlet -> lion king is fairly obvious once you think of it

about using previous texts..

i think your allowed to use those prescribed texts from previous years...

you just cant use texts that you are studying in class..

in yr 11 i did: pygmalion / cinderella / my fair lady(not really an appropriation) / la femme nikita / black cat (if you like foreign films) / pretty woman

coz this year i've done a few appropriations:
WS's Romeo & Juliet = Luhrman's Romeo + Juliet
Traditional fairytales = Angela Carter's postmodern fairytales
WS's Hamlet = Almereyda's Hamlet
