Going to a 200+ ranked school, averaging rank 20 - 30 in most subjects (Lower scaling) and doing shit in term 1 and possibly term 2. Even though I don't plan on going to uni, I don't want to do REALLY bad. Is a comeback still feasible? (aim 80+ atar).

Comebacks are possible and many past students were able to make a comeback from an unfavourable position and eventually achieve their ATAR goal. You simply need to do your best to improve your performance in your remaining school-based assessment tasks and exams, and do so by identifying areas of improvement and addressing them across your subjects. This will allow you to improve your overall ranks, increasing your chances of achieving your ATAR goal.

Additionally, keep in mind that the internal component contributes 50% of your overall HSC marks across your subjects, with the HSC exams alone contributing the remaining 50%. This means that there is still a significant part of your overall performance that is yet to be determined, and as such your HSC journey is far from over.

I hope this helps! 😄

yea. youre better off at least trying to do well, rather than giving up and having that thought of 'i shouldve tried harder' in the back of your head. an atar of 80 isnt really something that should be too hard to make a comeback for anyways, 70 is the average so you just need to try a little bit harder than your classmates. you want to try improve on everything, but especially try to improve your marks in your lowest scaling subjects since getting a 70 on food tech scales a lot worse than 70 in english standard.
