I'm not sure either. On the writing booklet, it says, "Write using black or blue pen".

heh felt tip pens are fine
any pens are fine so long as they are black or blue and legible

I believe a lot of the answers in the standards package are written in felt tip as well.

Initially I thought you meant those real thick ones like white board markers.

I've seen someone use felt tip, but it looks pretty ugly/illegible.

Stick to the ink based pens, metal tip.
