i was wondering whether u would still get a mark if you did a silly mistake in your maths exam eg forgetting a negative sign.. just say if the question was out of 3 would u at leats get a 2?...
and what about if u add something incorrectly which lead you to stuff up the following question but the way you did the working out was correct?? DO u still get marks for understanding how to do the question?

Is this making any sense??!

The HSC markers follow a criteria when marking questions. It could be "correct answer" - 2 marks, "wrong answer, correct working out" - 1 mark, "wrong answer" - 0 mark. :p

yeah if u make a mistake somewhere, like copy a number wrong, then they will take off a mark there, but give u the rest for the working.

if u get part a) wrong, and have to use the info in a to do b), well if u use what you got, and get the anwer which is right with ur info, then you will get b) right

yeah, they're pretty lenient i guess. unlike other subjects. if you're on the right track they give you something
