Are sequels usually better than the original movie? (1 Viewer)

Do u think that sequels are usually better than the original movie or a letdown?

I liked Rush Hour better than Rush Hour 2
But then I liked the Lion King 2 better than the first

Plus a whole heap of other movies in between

Anyone have any ideas? And has anyone seen Final Destination 2 yet?

Most sequals are worse than the original
there are exceptions...like Terminator 2, and Empire Strikes Back

The Empire Strikes Back wasn't a sequel, as it was a planned trilogy rather than a movie with a potential sequel.

I hate sequels, except for the Mummy Returns, which was a brilliant movie.

yeh i think matrix 2 was sposed to come out in march....but they r gunna release both together.

i'm pretty sure that part 2 is coming out in june and 3 in november...i can't wait to see both....and also DUMB AND DUMBERER: when harry met lloyd! (prequel, i know)

i reckon the chinese movie "young and the dangerous" the sequals were alot better... then again theres like 7 movies all up

I hope they don't make crap sequels. The Matrix was so excellent, they better not ruin it.

Still, has anyone seen the two trailers online - they look pretty cool. Here's hoping it lives up to that.

if u want crap sequels look at the trailor for terminator 3. "shell be back", unfortunately. Godfather 2 is considered one of the best sequels. recently i saw analyse that...dont get me started on that one. that was rock bottom for de niro.

But then again, police academy 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 were all crap
