ok- at my enrolment day:

-do I need to know my second semester subjects?
-do I need to bring any money?
-do I need to bring a hecs form? I got told that I need to have filled that out, but I haven't seen it, were we given it in that envelope?

1. Yes, you need to know your second semester timetable too... and have a backup timetable incase some of your classes are full.

2. Money... um... if you intend to get a parking permit and buy your books, then yes. Otherwise no.

3. You should have been given the HECS form in that envelope. Its v. weird that you havent seen it. If you dont have it, or cant find it, I'm sure you could grab another copy either on the day from somewhere, or try searching for it on www.mq.edu.au in the student section. Its pretty important to have all that cleared up on your enrollment, but if you dont, I think you have until the end of March to specify whether you're going to pay or defer the payment.

... And remember to look pretty for your student card, sign up for SAM (its free), and get your coop card BEFORE you buy your textbooks!

for your enrolment day you will need:
a pen, your tax file number, photo id, your planned first and second semester units of study as well as your timetable.

oh and its best that you pay your student activity fees on this day as well, or you could pay by phone or net... up to you... its just that closing day for student activity fees is normally really busy since everyone else is rushing to pay them as well...

If we fill out the HECS info tomorrow, does that basically mean we are locked into a place at MQ and if you wanna go elsewhere, u cant ?

I think you're 'locked in' once you enrol. It hasnt got anything to do with HECS. But, that said, if you decide to change your mind about the course you're doing after some specified cut-off date, you have to pay HECS for it, even if you're not doing it anymore.

its just this form u fill out, bout wat uni u goin and course etc

tick a box here and there and ur done

and like i just posted, dw u get the form on enrollment, it wasnt in our pack

wen its ur time u turn up & wait in the line and den flash em sum id and u get ur papers (including hecs form)

u fill them out & check ur personal details. den u go 2 sum building (they will tell u i 4get its name) and u have 2 get ur timetable checked. ignore the line that u 1st c cause thats where u go after u get ur timetable checked, sum ppl learnt that the hard way ... lined up 2 b told 2 go get timetable checked

den go join the line, timetable gets typed on computer

after that u access ur estudent account & den get ur id card

pretty straight 4ward

if u get lost/confused just ask sum1

For anyone interested, cencus date for firt half year units is 31 March.

I was wondering (im reading the enrollment information as i speak) , can i choose tomorrow to pay upfront but, before the last day to pay fees (incl. SAF .....25FEB) ...can i switch to fully defer. Also at later stages can i switch to upfront payments? Or would this simply just be voluntary payments on my fully deferred amount. However, if its via this avenue i dont think it gets the 20% discount? i think i read somewhere its only 10% ?

internal or external i think.

If a class is INT (internal), its on MQ campus. If its EXT (external), it means its not. So country kids who are doing long-distance education are EXT.

You are an INT student for all of your subjects... I'm assuming...

Um... the proposed program form, from memory, is the sheet where you write down your proposed timetable. Or it might be the page from the Handbook that gives you the outline for your course....Not sure, sorry!

yeah you proposed program is the one that you plan on doing.
you can get your unit list from the handbook.

oh and for photo id.. license or passport? gotta be original!!
