unless i've missed something, we have the HSC in about 2 and half weeks. what happens if someone does really well in the HSC, there UAI can go up alot right ?

Yes. Yes it can.

Hypothetically, if someone scored 40% as an assessment mark, was ranked 1st of 5 students and came out and ripped a 95% in the HSC exam - their scaled final HSC mark would be around 95%.

Assessment rankings are what count, the way I see it, because assessment marks are moderated around HSC exam results.

Yea, personally I think UAI predictions are quite useless. No-one can ascertain a UAI simply by observing raw trial or assessment marks, not to mention that neither SAM nor JUAI can estimate a UAI to 100% accuracy, though they are very accurate.

Your school should also have a program which takes into account the schools previous rank in the state, your rank in the subjects and your marks...they are more accurate - so im told...
