What will actually happen is that you'll have a one-hour "lecture" (like an excursion) starting at 10am (assuming they still say it's a 9-12 lecture) at any given arts institution - the Museum of Sydney, a publishing house, Darlinghurst theatre. They factor in an hour beforehand and afterwards for travelling time, unless the lecture is held at uni (about half of them are). You'll all be going as a group, although be expected to arrive there by yourselves.
** It is a NIGHTMARE getting to the publishing house. If Guy offers to "meet up somewhere then lead you to it", take up the offer. Otherwise be prepared for a road that actually breaks off 2 or 3 times, which is highly illogical, but oh well!!!
The only class I had issues with were ENGL218 lectures, which happened once a fortnight. Depending on whether the ARTS210 lecture was somewhere weird or on campus, we might have no difficulty getting there, or maybe make the last 20 mins of the lecture. Since there was a roll marked we just told the lecturer about the clash and promised we'd listen to the ilectures (heh heh), and everything was fine.
I'd say you can timetable lectures after, but not tutes.
