can someone tell me what program you would use to view a file with the extension .aspx ??

Microsoft Visual Studio.NET it's a resource file for ASP.NET Pages. you could also view it in Notepad.

Of course you aren't trying to save the ASP.NET file clientside are you? Of course not, you know that you need to grab it serverside ( ftp for example ) to actually have the aspx content.
