Which do you reckon is better?

- Having less assessment tasks, but each assessment task has a high weighting on the final assessment mark

OR

- Having more assessment tasks, but each assessmnet task has a small weighting on the final assessment mark

I like lots of little ones. That way, none of them are hugely difficult, and if you stuff one up it's not so bad.

Having less assessment task that are more heavily weighted, means you get more time to prepare for them, rather than doing smaller ones frequently throughout the year.
