ok, i know an autoimmune disease occurs when the immune system malfunctions and the body attacks its own tissues, but what causes this to happen? does anyone have an example of an autoimmune disease? oh, and does anyone know if we have to know the 5 types of immunoglobulins? coz i can never remember them!! :p

i think arthiritus (sorry abt the spellin) is an example of autoimmuno disease... when the immune system start to attack the joint tissues... also, the rejection of transpant tissues can also be regarded as autoimmuno disease...

the five type... uhm if u are really keen in knowin them, i think there's a summary in context... i survived hsc without knowin them, and i am pretty sure things hasn't changed that much... =)

Being a type 1 diabetic myself I would agree. My parents have said that my own body attacks the cells that produce the insulin needed.
