how do i play avi movies on my mac?
can someone please post me a link of where i can get a program
i tried downloading divx from download.com but that didnt work

im trying to watch some south park episodes stored on a dvd as avi files...

i use VLC player, seems to work for me so far for avi files on the mac.

*agrees with ChrisE* VLC is great - I've played .avi files with it in the past.

also agrees with above...VLC is the best but you could also have a look at mplayer

as it plays everything...even the stuff VLC wont open (which you sometimes get if you d/l stuff off the net)

divx + mac isnt really good...too many codecs to chose from
Pity QT doesnt handle everything (yet!)

vlc gives you the widest range eg you wont ever have to install another player. If it exists vlc can play it.
