i converted 2 ~700mb to .vob using winavi simultaneously. then i burnt it as a data disc using nero.

it played without problem, except there is a background disturbance noise. kind of like a fast, low-tone, ticking. it isnt very loud, but definately noticeable.

i also watched a different dvd the other day that i got off a friend (who had done the same method as me, perhaps using different programs), and it had the same noise.

any ideas how to get rid of this?

thanks.

There may be some sort of watermark feature ?

Or the conversion of the sound may not have been quite right (the problem you have when combining two split files + using a one touch program)

Get Gspot and stick the details in here, or extract the audio, and convert to .ac3 and see if there is still a noticeable sound

there was a watermark in the middle of the screen. but that was because i hadnt put the registration code in yet. you think the noise could have been because of a watermark?

i opened the .vob using avipreview on my comp and the background noise wasnt there. if that helps...

also, when i was burning it as a data disc using nero i was prompted to burn it a dvd - video disc (or something close to that). i am using the nero 6.6.0.13 enterprise edition.

edit: i just opened one of the .vob files on my computer, from the dvd and once again no disturbance. (but i didnt open the movie, just a file)
could it just be my cheap ass dvd player at fault?

Yeah it could be burnt at a non-standard or just different way and the DVD player may not be totally reading it.

Personally i used to use TMPG or CCE but DivxToDVD is a godsend so give that a try here
