B.Arts or UWS? (1 Viewer)

hey guys.

I didn't do as well as i thought in the hsc this year and got an atar of 72.95(after bonus pts). Atar Cutoff of B.Arts is 75

Is there still a chance to get into B.Arts at MQ or should I just give up and go to UWS?

I really wanted to get into MQ because my original first preference was B.Commerce so I am looking at a major transfer after first year.

I am quite confused right now….what should I do?

Keep Macquarie as your first preference. I'd put Mac Commerce, then Mac Arts, then UWS BCom.

I had two friends who had ATARs fairly below the previous year cut off, but they both got offers in later rounds. (On had ~65 ATAR and wanted to do arts, the other had around 80 nd wanted to do Commerce). B Arts usually has spaces available, so it's more likely you'd get an offer for that. If you make it into arts choose subjects that fall under the business/commerce categories so it makes it easier for you when you transfer majors later.


You can always transfer from UWS after a year of full time study (which is what I did). I was silly and removed Macquarie from my preferences because I thought I stood no hope; When my friends got late round offers I really regretted not having that option.
