I'm really confused about the units of study for this course. I understand that some subjects are Core units of study, eg. Geopolitics, but i dont understand what subjects we can CHOOSE to study. This is because i am wondering whether i can study Philosophy in the Int. Studies degree.

I found the following on the Usyd website:
"Approval to study units of study from the following Faculty of Arts subject areas will be considered on an individual basis:

• Art History and Theory
• English
• Gender Studies
• Linguistics
• Music
• Performance Studies
• Philosophy
• Studies in Religion
• Sociology"

Does anyone know whether i could study these subjects whilst undertaking an Int. Studies degree? or am i limited to Government and International Relations subjects?

Also, is it possible to major in a totally unrelated subject to this course? For example, can you major in Philosophy or sociology whilst undertaking the course? kthx
