Hi,

I got an offer for MQ Bachelor of IT and I have a few questions...

1. What is a NCCW?
2. Which units are u supposed to do? As i understand the COMP, ISYS and MATH units are mandatory, but don't you need one more unit? Do you just do whatever you want... or does it have to somehow relate to your course?

Also how hard is MATH135... it's been one year since i've been done with 2U HSC maths.

Cheers,
Daniel.

Hey, hopefully someone else can swing by and decipher NCCW for you (I have the feeling its "Non-Core") as for the other questions:

2. Check the handbook http://www.handbook.mq.edu.au/programofstudy.php?edition=2008&code=INFT01) for the units you'll have to do. The "Balance of Credit" or "Elective" credit points can be used on whatever but bear in mind that the course has a "maximum" allowed credit point tally for "100" level units (So I assume you can pick a few 100 level units then to use the rest of your elective points you'll do the next level up [200 level] units that may use the selected 100 level units as prereq's)

I did Math135 last year and was in the same position, 1 year out of HSC - just ensure you attend every lecture and put some work into the assignments (3 over the semester). You have weekly online quizzes that must be passed but you can redo them as much as you want during that week until you pass. Get that out of the way early in the week too, I made the mistake of always leving it late and so was up all night doing these quizzes every week the night before which is a pain.

If you can pass those assignments without alot of fuss you should be fine for the exam.
