Does anyone do BA engineering/Ba of Science, is the workload much more than a usual engineering degree? Is it easy to drop back to a single degree?

Yes workload is more - you have to maintain (from memory, you might want to check) credit average.

Is it easy to drop back to a single degree?

Yes - you get kicked down if you can't keep up the average.
