Ever since Ricky Ponting Cricket 2005 came out, I was hanging out for the next in the series. I bought RPC 2005 (and loved it). The game was a bit stupid in the fact that players names were changed because of licencing issues with EA. That is still the case in the 2007 version. By the way this is only for the PC-DVD version.
My major gripes about this game are that:
1. The meter for fielders is too fast (and I have a decent reation time)..this means that every fielder will drop easy catches. The throwing-back-to-wicket meter has also been stuffed up insanely with the meter blinking on and off before I could even press a button!
2. The control system. How about that-I imagine that having a gamepad (a ps/2 lookalike) would make it easier to play the game. NO! The goddamn game doesn't even support gamepads or joysticks...As in, you cannot map, or even see what controls are for the gamepad...incidentally, I tried the gamepad. The game played, but not all the features are available...like how to throw back to the wickets. Codemasters says the game is keyboard and mouse only...how shortsighted are they...xbox 360 and ps/2 don't have keyboards now do they?
Although the graphics are prettier, I would think that most gamers would agree "Better graphics does not = better game.
This game holds the distinction of the shortest game kept on hard drive: 30 minutes. Just so everyone knows, I am bitterly disappointed in the game after so much promise was shown in RPC 2005.
