so i was reading a post about what happens after a bad post is reported and i was wondering if the mods ever follow them up because i reported a really bad racist one a while back and i never heard back from any mod about if something was done or if they do anything. i dont like snitches but i hate racists more so whats the deal mods... does anything happen when we report a bad post???

It depends what forum it's in. If it's a non-moderated forum (ie. there are no moderators listed) it gets sent to the admins, who may or may not look at it depending on how busy they are. Ditto moderators actually..

I look at a post and judge it within the context of which it's posted. I may reply with a warning, PM them with a warning (and delete the post / close the thread) or leave the post untouched. Generally I remove threads that are obviously offensive.

If you want to PM or email me with the post link I'll have a look at it.

oh ok...it was a fair while ago in the aboriginal studies thread... i thought posting racist aboriginal jokes was totally inappropriate ill just find it...

it seems a mod has doe something since... the last pages of the thread are gone....so i guess it was dealt with... thanks mods...
do you think obviously racist jokes about indigenous australians in and aboriginal studies thread is worth reporting... they werent even light hearted jokes they were super discriminatory...i think it was member sam04u

yeh thats what i thought. it wasnt that i was uncomfortable with them. im not aboriginal but still... its just not done
