Is there a place where I can get a sample of a band 6 essay response? It'd be great if I can get a sample of a band 6 answer to a past HSC question. Thanks.

look into resources for Advanced englsh and you will find some band5/6 responses which have just been taken from the other board of studies site

your school might also have the standards packages..
have a look at the exemplar responses as well. they're a lot more useful than the band 6-es, or so i foudn anyway.

what are exemplar packages?

standards packages are CDs released by teh board of studies with examples of responses across the different bands.
Band 6 used to be the highest sort of response..
now u can have a look at exemplar responses, which are those which got full marks in the hsc. If ur aiming for top marks, they give u a pretty good idea of what are the standards you should meet, what u have to be discussing etc.

we dont care about BOS......BoS is just as good if not better

band 6 essays are not as good as the band exemplar ones.

go to one of ur teachers and ask them 2 burn the standards package for you then you will have all the band 5/6 and exemplar answers that u need, for all ur subjects! failing that go 2 the home page of this website and go 2 the advanced english page
