BEngineering (Computer)/BScience (Biology) - UTS or Usyd? (1 Viewer)

I'm unsure on whether to go to UTS or Syd to do a BEngineering(Computer)/BScience(Biology) degree as, although i'm told UTS is better for engineering I quite like the Syd campus and it's not too bad at science either. Career-wise I will potentially be doing computer engineering and the biology side of things is to fulfil my own personal interests (due to regretting not doing science in yr 11 and 12). Hence, the combined degree is to compensate for the lack of flexibility offered in an Engineering degree.

Went to info day and I like both courses so i'm not too bothered which one to enrol in although if I go to UTS and add the Dip of Engineering Prac. then the degree will be 6 years instead of 5, which is quite daunting spending the next 6 years at uni. If I went to Syd or completed the course without the diploma at UTS, would undertaking work experience in the summer breaks be a sufficient replacement? (I could probably get a years experience doing this)

Thanks.

Can I do that at UTS and/or Syd? The UTS website says that with their double degree I can only do the follwing science majors:

> Applied Chemistry
> Applied Physics
> Nanotechnology
> Biomedical Science
> Medical Science
> Biotechnology
> Environmental Science
> Mathematics

I'll probably just do the single BEngineering (ICT:Computer Systems) at UTS and then do as Musk says, using my electives to do bio or genetics subjects.

Now i've got got to see if the UTS people will change my prelim offer from BEngineering/ BScience to BEngineering or apply through UAC again.

Thanks all.
