best time to buy cheap gowns (1 Viewer)

i got a family wedding in the end of this year, and i've decided to find a dress some time soon (since i like winter dresses more than summer).

so i was just wonderin if i can get some advice of when it would be a good time to find nice gowns/evening dresses/cocktail dresses etc at the best prices.

i don't think right now would be good since there are mainly new arrivals at this time (hence higher prices) and i dont wanna wait till the end of the season cuz i don't wanna risk not finding anything by then

all advice would be appreciated.

oh by the way, does anyone have any advice of stores with nice dresses...i don't want anythin like harts

hmm.. i don't know, but remember the formals are towards the end of the year too. i guess the prices in normal shops might be a bit better towards stocktake / mid year sales time.

what type of dress are you after? what do you see as the difference between summer and winter dresses?

In all honesty, I think there are ALWAYS new arrivals somewhere, lol. I figure if you see something you like at a reasonable price, go for it

In regards to evening/cocktail, try all chain stores and places like DJ's and Myer. If you're tall and skinny with money to burn, Alex Perry dresses are SO GORGEOUS. Even places like Lisa Ho can have sales sometimes (so you might want to check there).

Other than that... for cocktail dresses, Witchery, Cue, Portmans, Ojay, Viva... anywhere, really.

Actual "evening" dresses could be a bit more interesting, I know Alex Perry and Lisa Ho stock really nice ones. Expensive though...
