I am trying to build a career as a graphic designer/illustrator. I live in Melbourne, so I have been searching on the internet for good universities based in Melbourne for studying graphic design/illustration on the internet, but found most of the information to be quite vague. Which university do you think provides the best teaching (and which bachelor's degree should I pick) when it comes to graphic design and illustration (as in the best quality of teaching, provides best tools...etc)?
To better elaborate on what I want out of my study, here is a graphic designer/illustrator's blog (http://www.noahbradley.com/) - Like him, I wish to be eventually be making posters for films and concept arts for a living, or work at a graphic design/web design business.
Also, I have no prior experience in doing graphic design or illustration, and did not take any related subjects in high school (I knew I had a great interest in this field, but I have only recently decided that I will make a career out of it). Therefore I very elementary drawing skills and no portfolio. I am patient and willing to spend the rest of 2014 doing either a foundation course or something similar to help me become good enough to be accepted into a bachelor's degree in 2015. Do you know of any good institute or academies courses that I could take that you consider would be good preparation for this?
