Binomial theorem (1 Viewer)

I was just reading ahead for maths and I came across the binomial theorem (which I can't find in my Cambridge 3U yr 11).



I'm pretty familiar with using Pascal's triangle to find the coefficients but I just wanted to find out how this formula works.

Could someone explain what the n over the k in the brackets means? I was watching khanacademy and he just said "n choose k".

used r instead of k here:

n over the r in the brackets is the same as nCr, which is equal to

and both of them are read as 'n choose k'

they're just different notations that people invented to confuse you

I found it quite difficult to differentiate 3u from 2u content as well
when I was a student

Yea this is 3u. And you won't understand it COMPLETELY until you've done probability (combinations).
