Omg, i got this bio assignment to make a presentation to the class. I have to: Identify changes in the distribution of Australian species, as rainforests contracted & sclerophyll communities & grasslands spreads as indicated by fossil evidence. I have no idea where to begin. What exactly am I meant to look for, omg can sum1 please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This response is possibily too late, however.

If you are using the fossil record to identify changes, I am assuming they mean physiological and anatomical changes of Australian species.
You are looking for any changes in present day plants, that have occured due to a change in their environment. I.e - if the environment becomes hotter with less rainfall, you can easily assume that the present day plants will have developed ways to retain water and minimise surface area exposure to the sun.

Look at your marking sheet to see just what marks are being allocated, so you have a rough idea of what content you require.
