hi,
i am doing biomedical engineering at usyd( first year),
the course length is 4 years, including work experience.
there are about 400 companies that employ graduates in australia. 2 of the companies are RESMED and COCHLEAR.
according to the head of biomedical engineering, it is a relatively new field that combines mechanical, electrical, bit of mechatronics.
1 & 2 year u pretty much do normal engineering with a bit of specialising
in 3 & 4 th year, u specialise in biomedical engineering i.e. take subjects related to biomedical engineering like 'tissue engineering' etc
and finally do a thesis.
in between these four years, it is a course requirement that you should complete your work experience. i am not sure about the duration of it.

the cutoff for last year was 95.6
